Green-Light

Sorry for not posting up lately, all my computer time has been taken up with looking after the new londonbikers.com website, finding people to help provide content, galleries and other contributions. The site has been well received, but now comes the difficult task of building an amount of quality content that will bring people back to the site frequently.

After waiting four weeks, the K5 has now been serviced (200 miles over the first-service milage point), officially giving me the green-light on hard riding, not that this stopped me doing a few sessions at a Silverstone GP trackday recently, oops. I've tried to keep true to my thought of not going over-the-top with the modification of the K5, I know exactly what I want to do it, and don't feel the need to have such an aggressively modified bike, as the 750 was. Some blue rim-tape has been installed to give it a race-bike look and some goodridge braided hoses. There's a batch of goodies to take care of the basics winging their way from the States as well right now. Pictures of the K5 with the current mods are viewable here.

I've also been selling items from the 750, as I've rather dissapointingly discovered that next to nothing was transferable between the two bikes. The only thing that has gone over is the rear wavey disc, the clipons, ohlins shock, rearsets, chain adjusters, power commander, carbon accessories and the like, all didn't fit. It's all time-consuming selling these items, slowing me down with modifying the K5. Next up is the Ohlins shock though, I want that installed as a priority for some trackdays planned.

I missed last Fridays bike-night as I was out with some friends from work, but the word is that people have been turfed out of the stunt meet at Staples Corner that we have every Friday night after mid-night. Apparently the land-owners were represented along with the Police and people were asked to leave, with the warning that if they came back again, there would be trouble for those people. Not a big problem though, it's not like London is short on car-parks where this sort of thing can safely and quietly take place.

london bikers!!!

Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached.

have you been closing your connection off young man????????

Shit happens when you host with 5000 other monkeys. They're sorting it out, apparently, doh.

Hi Jay,

I noticed the front indicators/mirrors have disappeared: have you mounted some front indicators somewhere else?

Hi Captain Blue! There's a common mod to replace the side-light bulbs, which are in the tips of the headlight cluster, with the indicator units. I have been planning to do this, but I've become distracted and not got round to it yet! I hope to do so soon.
