The gang and I rode up to Brands Hatch in Kent to see the opening round of the 2005 British Superbikes races, which is made up from a whole host of support series' such as superstock, supersport, R6 cup and the Superbike cup. A top day was had, beating the weather forecasters expectations and ending up with a sunny day!
I took my new Nikon D70 camera long, hoping to start experimenting and hopefully ending up with some decent shots. The pictures are up in the gallery now, but after processing most of them (I left a few as they came, because there were just too many to process in the time I had), I've come to the conclusion all shots were a failure really and lack the detail, clarity and balance they deserve, but after discussion with some friends who know more about this game than me, I've learnt a lot from it and got a much better understanding of how to take better shots than these. Have a look though as I'm sure they're viewable, just not as good quality as I would like.
I can't wait to see what Dave's pictures are like, as he is far more skilled than me and took a 300mm lens along so will have much closer/sharper pictures. He's a lazy bugger though so we won't see them for another month or so I suspect :)
The races were good, with plenty of action, unexpected results and the obligatory number of crashes happening right in front of our vantage place from Paddock Hill Bend. Superb.
Also new to the gallery are some shots from last Sunday at the Ace Cafe. It's the usual messing about that we get up to if we're bored, except this time I had a camera, and even let a couple of friends ride my gixxer as a reward for doing good stunts just before, hehe.

Very nice pics, excellent quality, impressive cam.
Shame about the crashes :-(
Miss your comments.

Excellent shots, Jay. Have I mentioned that I'm wicked jealous of the bike scene in the U.K.? It looks much better than that here in "lovely" Wichita, KS. Any chance you might attend the British Grand Prix event?

Entry on my blog shortly to accompany the pics.
Both sets of pics are brilliant, can't wait to get to my first BSB this year. Brands is just a bit far for me. Dave, very jealous of the possible R1 they look gorgeous. Jay not seen much of you on gixercrew, you workin too hard?
Cheers
Yep, busy-bee at the moment. I've got a couple of pet-projects on the go at the moment as well, with a new site being launched very soon, so most of my time is taken up at the moment. I did pop on GC recently thought to slam someone who slagged off us blue/white gixxer owners!
Do they make Gixxers in any other colour then? :-) Rod
send me links to the site when they go live so I can see your work :), you workin for yourself now then?
When the project's ready, I'll be talking about it, but it's a secret for now :) I don't work for myself, no. I work for 'the man.
Yeah, he works for 'the man', putting peaches in a can, in a factory down town. Pepelepeux
